Mama Diam 妈妈店: Hidden Restaurant And Cocktail Bar (Prinsep Street)

Was served tonight by Precious and team. Her service was impeccable throughout the entire time. Served us with a great smile and even went through the different dishes that were ordered. Food-wise; it was indeed something new to us. We tried almost everything in the menu and everything worked out so perfectly in our mouths! The fusion flavours balanced out so well and i must say that the entire menu was just delectable. The highlight of the entire experience has definitely got to be the seasonal item "Orh Lu Lu Sotong Fried Rice". For vegetarians, you have got to try the "Tempura Cauliflowers". Drinks-wise would be "Chai Tea Brew". The entire team has made our meal here so pleasant it actually is comparable to that of a Michelin-Starred dining experience. Will absolutely dine here again. Once again, i'd like to thank the team for the outstanding service.

Looks like a mom & pop shop, but this is actually a restaurant & speakeasy bar !! With a modern twist on iconic local favourites, they charm everyone (myself included) with nostalgic rustic decor, while setting the standard for both their dishes & drinks. We had their 6pcs Chicken Curry Kueh Pie Tee ($17.90) & I was mind blown by this dish !! Think bite-sized chicken curry w satisfying CRUNCH. The light, sweet coconut foam was an unexpected pairing w boneless chicken thigh & mildly spicy, savoury curry that worked. 4pcd Roast Duck Tarts ($15.90) has cucumber, shallots, hoisin sauce & roast duck. This is a mildly sweet, cold & refreshing starter. Charred Confit Cabbage ($18.90) is a vegetarian dish with Beijing cabbage steeped in rich pumpkin broth & chai poh. Loved the addition of pumpkin seeds for that extra textural crunch !! We ordered medium rare for our 250g Bachelor Angus Striploin MB3 ($39.90), which came super tender & juicy. Well paired w gao, creamy mildly spicy sweet-savoury rendang sauce, charred broccolini, pommes purée (mashed potato) & desiccated coconut. 12h Braised Beef Cheek ($32.90) was stewed so well that the beef easily fell apart. Served w veggies, mashed potato & spiced beef jus !! Kaya Churros ($14.90) had a caramel kaya dip w gentle coconut notes, paired w churros that were crispy on the outside & kueh-like on the inside. Ordered 2 cocktails — Happy Summer ($22) which comprised of Aperol, sparkling wine, watermelon, pink guava & soda — on the lighter side, w fruity notes coming through. Loved the little umbrella hehe Mango Sago ($23) has Junmai sake, aperol, homemade mango cream & mango liquor — this was a little stronger, which i preferred !! Nostalgic take-home treats were a nice touch. Staff were super friendly, & it’s def a spot that met my expectations for taste, quality, creativity & vibes :)

3 words. Don't walk, runn. This place exceeded all expectations and I don't say it lightly. The service was excellent food was on another level. The must try are all shown in my pictures. If you manage to arrive at happy hour get the negroni or the banana whisky or the nasi lemak unreal flavours. Nothing to fault. Precious are waiter was also super sweet.
